Your messages stay yours

Breezily helps you reply to messages. It works as an iPhone and Android keyboard and app and as a Chrome extension. It only sees what you choose to give it: a message you copy or share, screenshots you share or text you select. Here is exactly what happens to your data on each one.

Last updated: 12 October 2026

Who we are

Breezily is run by Automika Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17020729). Our registered office is 40 Bittacy Road, London NW7 1BP. Automika Ltd is the controller of the personal data described on this page. If you have any question about it, email hello@getbreezily.com.

The iPhone and Android apps

What the keyboard can see

The Breezily keyboard types like any other keyboard. Your typing, autocorrect and word suggestions are worked out on your phone. We never send your keystrokes anywhere.

To write a reply, the keyboard needs to read the message you want to answer. On iPhone this needs Full Access, which you turn on in Settings. Without Full Access the keyboard still types but cannot read what you copy or reach our servers. On Android the keyboard can read your clipboard while it is the keyboard in use.

Reading what you copy

When the keyboard is open it notices when you copy something new. It reads each copy once. On iPhone, iOS may ask you to allow the paste first. If you say no, the keyboard stops reading copies on its own until you tap the Breezily button.

If what you copied looks like a message and Reply when I copy a message is on, Breezily sends it to our servers straight away to write a reply. It is on when you install the app. You can turn it off in the app’s Settings. When it is off, nothing is sent until you tap the Breezily button.

The keyboard never reads anything a password manager marks as secret or that Android marks as sensitive. It never sends passwords, sign-in codes, links, single words or numbers you copy. When you paste a sign-in code with the keyboard, the code is typed into the field and is never kept or sent.

What we send when you ask for a reply

When you ask for a reply (or copying a message does it for you) we send our servers:

  • the message you copied or shared (or up to four screenshots of the conversation);
  • anything you typed to steer the reply, such as a goal or a short brief;
  • the text in the message box if you asked Breezily to improve your own draft;
  • your writing preferences, a few short examples of replies you sent and up to twelve of your saved replies, so the reply sounds like you;
  • the language you read and the lens you chose;
  • an anonymous install id and, if you are signed in, your session token, so we can apply your allowance and plan.

Our servers pass the message, screenshots and context to our AI provider, OpenAI, to write the reply. OpenAI processes them only to generate your reply and does not use them to train its models. It may keep them for up to 30 days to detect abuse and then deletes them.

We do not store your messages, screenshots or the replies we write. Our logs record only sizes and counts (for example, how many characters and how many screenshots) and never the words.

Learning how you write

After Breezily puts a reply in the message box, the keyboard looks at what you actually send. It compares the two to learn small habits (for example, that you leave off the full stop) and asks you before applying any of them. It keeps up to three of your sent replies on your phone as examples. Those go with your next requests so the replies sound like you. You can see, switch off or delete all of this in Settings > Your style. The keyboard does not learn from password fields or fields that turn suggestions off.

Sharing to Breezily

You can share text, a link or up to four screenshots to Breezily from the share sheet. They are saved on your phone for the keyboard to use and are deleted once used or replaced. They are sent to our servers only when a reply is written.

Saved replies

Saved replies are kept on your phone. If you sign in, they are also stored with your account so they appear on your other devices. We store the name, text and any note you give each one. Delete a saved reply in the app and it is deleted from your account too.

What stays on your phone

Your settings, writing preferences, style examples, saved replies and the message you are working on are stored on your phone, shared only between the Breezily app, its keyboard and its share extension. On iPhone your session token is kept in the Keychain. On Android it is kept in encrypted storage and is not included in device backups. Deleting the app removes all of it.

Accounts and email

You can use Breezily without an account. Without one you get a small number of free replies on each phone, counted against an anonymous install id. For a daily allowance or a paid plan you sign in with your email. We send a one-time code. There is no password.

When you verify, we create an account keyed to that email. We store your email, when you verified it, your plan and whether your subscription is active. On a creator plan we also store which creator you chose. We link your install id to your account so your allowance follows you.

We use your email to sign you in, to apply your limits and plan and to send service emails, such as your sign-in code or a reminder before a free trial ends. We send product updates only if you have said yes to them. You can say no at any time. We never sell your email, share it for advertising or use it to train models.

Signing out deletes your session token from that device. Usage limits and plan entitlements are checked on our servers.

Invitation and creator codes

If a creator or a pilot invited you, you can enter their code when you join or within 14 days of signing up. Opening a creator’s Breezily link does the same. We store the code with your account so we can give you the right offer and pay the creator their share. Creators see only totals, such as how many people joined with their code. They never see your email, your messages or your replies.

Analytics is optional

Product analytics is off by default in the apps and the extension. It turns on only if you choose to share usage counts in the app or opt in from the extension settings. You can turn it off at any time in Settings.

When it is on, we record events such as “the keyboard opened”, “a reply was inserted” or “a purchase completed”, with details that are ids, counts and timings only: for example which lens you used, how many replies were offered, how long a reply took and an error code if something failed. Each event carries your anonymous install id and the invitation code you joined with, if any. When you sign in, we link that install id to your account. Analytics never includes your messages, the replies, what you typed or your email.

We use PostHog to process analytics. Its servers are in the United States. We do not use analytics to work out where you are.

Separately from analytics, our servers keep a short record of each reply request (for example, the time, whether it counted against your allowance and whether it failed). We need this to apply your limits, stop abuse and keep the service running. It never includes the words of your messages or replies.

Payments

On iPhone, subscriptions are sold through the App Store. Apple takes the payment and we never see your card or Apple account details. The app sends us Apple’s signed record of your purchase so we can turn on your plan. We store the product, its status, its renewal or end date and Apple’s transaction reference with your account. Apple tells us when it renews, ends or is refunded. To manage or cancel, tap Manage subscription in the app or go to your iPhone’s Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions.

On Android, the Chrome extension and the web, paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Checkout happens on Stripe’s own pages and Breezily never sees or stores your card details. Stripe processes your payment, billing and invoice information under its own privacy policy. We store only your subscription status, your plan and a Stripe customer reference. You can manage or cancel from Settings > Account > Manage subscription, which opens Stripe’s secure customer portal.

For any billing question, email hello@getbreezily.com.

Who processes your data

We use these service providers to run Breezily. Each one may use your data only to provide its service to us.

  • OpenAI writes replies and checks from the text, screenshots and context you send.
  • Vercel hosts our servers.
  • Cloudflare hosts this website.
  • Supabase hosts our database (accounts, plans, saved replies and usage records).
  • Upstash stores short-lived counters for allowances.
  • Resend sends our emails, such as sign-in codes.
  • PostHog processes analytics, only if you turn analytics on.
  • Apple processes App Store payments.
  • Stripe processes payments on Android, the extension and the web.

We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising. We do not use your messages, screenshots or replies to train AI models.

Where your data is processed

Some of our providers process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, we rely on the UK’s adequacy regulations (such as the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) or on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep things

  • Messages, screenshots and replies: not stored by us. Our AI provider may keep them for up to 30 days to detect abuse.
  • Your account (email, plan, creator choice, invitation code, saved replies and preferences): until you delete your account.
  • Purchase and payout records: for as long as the law requires us to keep financial records (usually six years in the UK), without your email once you delete your account.
  • A record that a free trial was used: kept after you delete your account, so each person gets one free trial.
  • Request records and usage counts: while we need them to run the service, linked only to a scrambled (hashed) id.
  • On your phone: until you delete it in the app or delete the app.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time in the app: Settings > Account > Delete account. This deletes your email, plan details, creator choice, saved replies and preferences from our servers straight away and cancels a subscription paid through Stripe. It cannot cancel an App Store subscription: cancel that in your iPhone’s Settings first. You can also email hello@getbreezily.com and we will delete it for you.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of your personal data. You can also ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it or send it to you in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent (for analytics) you can withdraw it at any time in Settings. You can object to how we use your data where we rely on our legitimate interests. Email hello@getbreezily.com and we will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We would be grateful for the chance to put it right first.

Why we are allowed to use your data

  • To provide the service you asked for (writing replies, your account, your plan and saved replies): it is needed for our contract with you.
  • To apply allowances, prevent abuse and keep the service secure and working (install id, request records, error logs and the one free trial each): our legitimate interest in running a reliable service.
  • Analytics: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • Purchase records: our legal duty to keep financial records.

Children

Breezily is not meant for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you think a child has given us their data, email hello@getbreezily.com and we will delete it.

Please don’t send sensitive information

Because what you send is passed to an AI provider, please do not copy, share or select sensitive personal information, such as bank details, health records or government identifiers. If you copy something like that while the keyboard is open, turn off Reply when I copy a message first or close the keyboard.

The Chrome extension

What we send when you run a check

  • Only the text you select. When you highlight text and run Breezily, just that selection is sent to our servers and on to our AI provider to generate a second opinion. We do not store it for training.
  • For the Reality Check lens only: the page title and URL are sent as source metadata. The lens does not fetch or read the source. We never send the rest of the page.
  • Never: your full page content, your browsing history, other tabs, passwords or anything you did not select.

After you sign in, the extension keeps a signed session token in your browser’s extension storage. Your recent runs and settings live there too. Signing out, clearing the extension’s data or removing it deletes them. When you submit your email we also record where you submitted it (for example, “daily limit”), the time and the extension version, so we can support you.

Feedback and reports

When you rate a result or use “Report a problem”, we store the rating, the lens, the mode and, if you type one, your own note. If you tick “Include the text I was checking”, we also store the text you were checking and any context you added, so we can see what happened. That box is unticked by default.

This website

On getbreezily.com we use privacy-safe, content-free analytics to see how the site is used, for example which pages are viewed and when a download button is clicked. We record only the named event, the page path on this site and an anonymous, first-party id. We do not use third-party advertising scripts, we do not track you across other websites and our analytics never records form contents such as your email.

Changes to this page

We will update this page when Breezily changes how it uses your data and change the date at the top. If a change is significant we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
